Open Source
The «Quartieridee» platform is an open source platform. This means that the platform’s entire source code is freely accessible and can be adopted and modified by anyone. The source code is stored in a github repository, where it can be openly accessed and downloaded. An open source release of the platform facilitates the highest level of transparency in the code, as well as traceability in case of changes. Additionally, it allows for everyone to be able to contribute to this project. Similarly, the «Quartieridee» platform itself is not a new design. Rather, it is based on the Decidim platform developed in Barcelona, which has already been used in various cities, such as Helsinki or Nancy. The company Puzzle ITC has adapted the platform to our local requirements here in Switzerland and has made it available to the general public under the same license as Decidim, a GPL Affero 3 license.
Any new data created by the platform’s users will also remain in Switzerland: Puzzle ITC runs its own local cloud service (in Rümlang, Switzerland), together with Vision. All data, including personal user information, is stored there.
More information about the usage of user data can be found in the terms of use and privacy policy.
